The Recycling Centre has been the Recycling Division of RTS Imaging P/L, the largest re-user of printer cartridges in the Southern Hemisphere for over 10 years. During this time we have rescued and reused over 2 million cartridges.

We have decided to rename the Recycling Division to Cartridge Rescue™ to reflect our new commitment to the environment, certification to the International Environmental Standard ISO14001.

Our pursuit of zero waste to landfill has been ongoing since the beginning and we have now formalised the management of this pursuit with our certification to ISO 14001.

In working towards zero waste to landfill we have set ourselves specific objectives and measures for each waste stream. These include:

To ensure a minimum of 90% of all returned catridges are reused in our manufacturing process. (Presently 92% is being reused in our manufacturing process).

To recycle all the unusable aluminium photoconductor drums (OPD). This has been achieved with approximately 25 tonnes per annum being diverted from landfill.

To recycle all unusable flexible plastics, paper and board products. This has been achieved with approximately 130 tonnes per annum being diverted from landfill.

To recycle unusable ferrous metals. This has been achieved with approximately 28 tonnes per annum being diverted from landfill.

Recycling of rigid plastics. Program has commenced with a third party recycler to convert rigid plastics into recycled products.
